A New Social App is Within Nearshot™ 

FLORENCE, ALABAMA -- Wellspring is proud to announce their partnership with Funsize, Inc., and Norris Digital Creative to bring Nearshot™ to life.  Nearshot™ is a GPS-Based social networking platform based on the Android smartphone protocol*.   It allows users to visualize and communicate with friends, business associates and likewise receive information from businesses - all within a pre-determined range – within “nearshot” so to speak.  

As a social-networking device, users download and run their own copy of the application on their smartphone and set-up their account.  Once the account is activated, the user can set their parameters on who and when people may contact them.   By simply tapping on the other users’ icon located on the map of their location, they can immediately message or chat with that person in real-time.  The user will see where that person is located (completely controllable from the preferences pane) and if they are available to talk with, etc..  There are countless uses for this service. 

The application allows users to join Nearshot™ Networks  aka Nearworks™ - where they will receive information on specials, v-coupons, updates, menus, etc., as soon as they get into the range of each Nearwork™.   The application is controlled from either a smartphone or website.  This allows the business owner to update their specials in real-time, first thing that morning or whenever an opportunity presents itself.   This is the most current and immediate way to target their customers! 

The application is starting beta testing in March 2011 in the Florence, Alabama, Pensacola, Florida, New York City, New York, Kansas City, Missouri and the Los Angeles, California markets with a final release in May of 2011.
